The final concert was a powerful experience for audience and participants of this year’s Toppen International Sommer Music Academy and festival. Standing ovations for the soloist and the three orchestras, and we are tremendously proud of this years participants!
The Junior- and Youth Orchestra, led by Bergmund Skaslien and Ida Kristine Hansen, opened the concert with Improvisation and Theme from”The Pirates of the Caribbean”.
In the concert also a picture by Stig Ove Sivertsen, painted on another concert earlier in the day, were auctioned off.
Soloist Elisabeth Turmo made a great effort in Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. Standing ovations already in the first part of the concert! After the break, the Toppen Symphonics showed that the orchestra is the best orchestra ever in the history of the Toppen International Summer Music Academy. A mighty sound captured the cultural House and conductor Nicholas Carthy led the youth to the really great heights. The audience thanked the orchestra with standing ovation.
